Neil Ellis Photos: Snow Geese Flock At Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge

On February 22, 2012, Neil and Irene (Hippie With Tiara) Ellis made a two hour trek from their home to Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge, a 7,415-acre site in northwestern Missouri established in 1935 as a resting, feeding, and breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife.

There they found lots of ducks, a score of Trumpeter Swans and an equal number of Bald eagles, but the stars of the show were the Snow Geese, of which approximately 1.1 million were in attendance on the day the photos were shot.

Neil Ellis Photos: Neil is great friend who plays a respectable round of golf, identifies unseen birds by their calls, completes the New York Times Friday Crossword in ink, and snaps a heck of a photo. His photos are featured here at and can be found collected at Neil Ellis Photos.
