Musing on the sixth anniversary of our wedding today, I realized we had all the makings of a Netflix Original romcom – albeit one with a soundtrack atypically dominated by Leonard Cohen songs.
Consider this: my first marriage followed six years of dating, and my second involved meeting Julie and then – 9 years, 2 husbands, 1 wife, 4 cross-country moves, and 2 careers later – marrying her, On the other hand, Penny and I went from exchanging Match.com profiles to being officially and lawfully united in matrimony by my best friend from medical school, the just-reverend-enough Duke of Derm within months. Now, does that sound like real life or the mechanizations of a B level scriptwriter?

And why else would Penny have transformed from “the hardest working mortgage industry consultant anywhere” to someone of quasi-pseudo-retired status who spends more time working out than perusing state lending regulations if not to benefit from the whimsical preferences of the viewing public?
Today’s Episode
Happy Anniversary to my resplendent, charming, unremittingly passionate, delightful, and altogether marvelous wife Penny, who could have done so much better.
Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
