After posting 10 Reasons I Love Canada yesterday, I realized I had neglected to include Louise Penny and her Chief Inspector Armand Gamache novels. This is an especially egregious omission given our hope to emigrate to Ms Penny’s primary setting: Three Pines. As I noted in Visiting Three Pines – Louise Penny’s Chief Inspector Armand Gamache Novels:
And, just in case Ms Penny reads this, the only possible improvement to this municipalité au Québec would be the addition of a delightful Pilates, Barre, Cadillac, Chair & Barrels Studio run by The Duchess, an expatriate, extroverted, ex-mortgage consultant from North Carolina married to a misanthropic, deeply superficial, nonpracticing agnostic, hard-core dilettante, who runs a delightful, devotedly irreverent Leonard Cohen fan site.
After pondering which of the original 10 Reasons I Love Canada Louise Penny would replace, I came upon a distinctly Canadian solution; the 10 Reasons I Love Canada are now the 11 Reasons I Love Canada.
In this video, Director Peter Moss talks about finding the perfect setting for the film “Still Life” based on author Louise Penny’s book of the same title.
