“I was lucky to be offered the comfort food of my childhood” Leonard Cohen, on being asked if You Want It Darker is his “most Jewish” record

Some people said that You Want It Darker is your “most Jewish” record, do you agree” with this ? (or is Recent Songs the real “most Jewish” ?)

I do not stand before
a catered buffet table,
choosing this or that delicacy
according to my appetite.
Scraps of possibilities arise.
Very few.
I follow the starving song.
There is no theology involved.
In this case, I was lucky to be offered
the comfort food of my childhood.
