Introduction: Things Cohenites Like Most About Leonard Cohen
The paradoxical popularity of Things Cohenites Don’t Like About Leonard Cohen has prompted a consideration of a decade of writing about Leonard on my own sites and turns posting on LeonardCohenForum, Facebook fan groups, YouTube, and the official Leonard Cohen Facebook page, to determine1 which aspects of Leonard Cohen’s life and work are most favored by fans.
Note: For the purpose of this series, I’ve eliminated what could be described as “breaking news,” e.g., announcements about album releases, tours, books, etc.

I am not surprised these post were popular. The woman in Leonard’s life were fascinating people and their own right. Of all of his relationships the one with Rebecca De Mornay fascinated me the most.
However I was more interested in Leonard Cohen’s ability to articulate the Zeitgeist and his reports about his explorations of the landscapes of the collective interior. Also his prophecies – although I wonder whether some of these were grounded in his ability to identify trends early, and an ability to project his discoveries from the “Zeitgeist” and “landscapes” into the future.
Cheers,
