Baby, I’ve Venn Here Before: Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah Lyrics In Venn Diagrams

1. Love is not a victory march

2. There was a time you let me know
What’s really going on below
But now you never show it to me, do you?

3. Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you1

DrHGuy Note: OK, the first diagram, “Love is not a victory march,” is actually an Euler diagram, which resembles a Venn diagram except it does not necessarily represent all possible intersections of the sets but shows only actual intersections of the sets. I chose to use the term “Venn Diagram” in the title of this post because the intersection of the set of all readers of this blog, the set of everyone that knows what a Euler Diagram is, and the set of everyone that gives a crap is infinitesimally small and may exist only in a theoretical sphere – inhabitants of which do not register on web stats.
