During the period from 1979 to 1981, Bob Dylan, who had been raised in a Jewish home and underwent his bar mitzvah at 13, converted to evangelical Christianity. By 1982 he had returned to Judaism. His divergence into Christianity did not go unnoticed by Leonard Cohen.
