This Is How A Love Story Began
Originally published March 20, 2006, this is the first of a series of posts telling the unlikely story of how Julie and I met, fell in love, and – 9 years, 2 husbands, 1 wife, and 2 careers later – got together to spend an outrageously wonderful 20 years together before her death in 1999 from cancer diagnosed the week of our wedding.1 Since then, every Valentine’s Day has occasioned a surge of visits (a good portion of which are from viewers who have previously read the tale), an altogether incredible phenomenon given that nothing related to Valentine’s Day appears in the post.
