Must-Hear 1976 Version Of So Long, Marianne
Leonard Cohen’s performance of So Long, Marianne at the June 25, 1976 Montreux concert is indeed considered by many fans to be the epitome of its class. And, although I personally prefer the more dramatic 1993 Oslo rendition, it is impossible not to recognize the beauty of this carefully measured and modulated version.
This pristine (audio only) recording includes a snippet of stage banter after the song.
