Given that my Match.com profile included the confession that

I began college as a Bible major (not “theology major,” mind you – I majored in “Bible”)

it may not be surprising that that I was taken by Josh Ritter’s lyrics from Getting Ready to Get Down:

Send her off to a little bible college in Missouri

 

OK, I was not the referenced rebellious daughter but a submissive son, and I attended a little bible college in Oklahoma (Oklahoma Christian College) rather than a “little bible college in Missouri” (I did consider a “little bible college in Missouri” aka Ozark Christian College only a short drive from my home); the song nonetheless resonates.
